ACT Power Services, a third-party operations and maintenance provider for solar and battery energy storage systems in the continental U.S., has been acquired by a group of strategic investors led by BridgePeak Energy Capital. The company emerges with new ownership and new leadership.
How the deal came together
The acquisition followed a Chapter 11 auction on January 5, was approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and closed on January 31, 2026. ACT was founded in 2020 and was acquired by an affiliate of Pine Gate Renewables in 2022.
Leadership
Kyle Cooper has been named CEO. He brings nearly 20 years of O&M experience, including as Vice President of O&M at Cypress Creek Renewables and as an operations shift manager at Duke Energy.

What it means for owners
ACT is contracted to serve more than 9 GWdc of solar and more than 2 GW-hrs of battery storage across hundreds of projects. ACT says it stayed focused on reliable service to its asset owner partners throughout the restructuring.
